Just to summarize, I have a dual boot setup with XP x64 on one partition, Vista x64 on another partition (same HD), and my applications on a separate HD. I had been trying to run WoW directly from the ezisting program folder, but it kept crashing. However, there is a simple fix to get WoW to run without having to reinstall (if you already have the Burning Crusade expansion, this is a major time saver). Instead of launching the WoW.exe directly, use the launcher.exe file. For whatever reason, the launcher makes a change to the Vista registry that allows WoW to run.
That being said, there is a bit of a slowdown between running WoW in XP x64 and Vista x64. Not a big slowdown, but a noticeable one. Also, AA is not working like it does under XP x64 - this may be due to the drivers not being fully mature. |
