I'm running a 64-bit build of Vista -- I have been unable to get sound to work in any way. I have tried my Creative Sound Blaster Live, and the AC'97 (ALC850) module for my DFI UT nF4 Ultra-D motherboard. I managed to get the SB Live XP x64 drivers to install, but I still get no audio through the speakers. Device Manager reports that the drivers are working fine, and Media Player plays, but I hear nothing. I also have tried the kX drivers, and the NGO drivers. Neither worked. For the AC'97, I tried both Realtek drivers from this site and from the Realtek website (version 6183). Again, I could get them to install, but I still can't hear anything from the speakers. I have checked, double-checked, triple-checked, and so on that nothing is muted... and I tried two sets of headphones to make sure it wasn't the speakers. Any idea what may be going on here? Vista is great -- but with no sound, it sucks. Thanks. This post has been edited by Sean C.: Nov 21 2006, 01:28 PM |
