QUOTE(patpotlood @ Mar 22 2006, 11:57 PM) thnx for the info, but i know where to download the drivers, thats not my problem my problem is that the printer isn't connected with usb to the 64 bit machine, but on the 32 bit machine (server) so when i send a printjob from my 64 bit machine, the 32 bit machine sends drivers to my 64bit machine (i think) but these are of course 32 bit or can i just install the 64 bit drivers on my 64bit machine to print overthe network? tia P I know when I did things the other way round (installed the printer on x64, and wanted to print from x86) I had to install both sets of drivers on the server. Windows had a handy-dandy wizard for this somewhere, as it tends to, and I just point it to the right .inf file. Under the printer properties, sharing tab, click 'Additional Drivers'. It will have a list of platforms, now the question is - does your x86 windows know that x64 exists? If it does, simply install the x64 drivers there, and your x64 boxen will download them fine, otherwise... have you tried installing the drivers on the x64 machine before you add the printer? And otherwise... give up and do what rameijer said :) |

Hello b0n3sd0tc0m! Welcome to PlanetAMD64! QUOTE(b0n3sd0tc0m @ Mar 25 2006, 09:58 PM) Go here: Canon Software Center Under "Please select a product from one of the categories." scroll to Printers - Select A Product and select the Pixma IP3000 printer. You will be directed to a new page, where the various drivers are shown. To narrow the search for an x64 driver, you can select Operating System - Windows and select Language - English Kind Regards LDJ |

I have a Laserbase 5650 and I haven't been able to use it for a year because there are no drivers for it, and Canon really don't care whenever you e-mail them. I won't be buying Canon again. QUOTE(MongolitaFlo @ Apr 28 2006, 03:51 PM) Hey guys,

QUOTE(DarkStar02 @ May 5 2006, 05:24 AM) I'm looking to get an MP130 printer, however I did not see any xp-64 drivers (on the UK site). HOWEVER... I'm not sure if I'm right here (or too late !!), however I think I have stumbled by accident across an MP130 driver for xp-64. Go Here: http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controll...ownloadIndexAct Enter your product model name: MP130 and click SEARCH Now select drivers/software You should now see an option for downloading Windows XP-64. Hope this helps (sorry if this has already been posted) Clayton |

Hello hengehog! QUOTE(hengehog @ Jun 3 2006, 09:15 AM) There is still no x64 drivers, for the "I" series printers. In order to make your printer work, you will either have to try out the various Canon drivers "in-box" (drivers which are provided with Windows XP x64) or wait for Canon to release the driver. Before I found that I could use the Pixma 4000 x64 driver, for my i865 printer, I used the BJC-8000 printer "in box" driver. It worked OK, but I couldn't use the cd-label print function, which my printer supports. After having installed the Pixma 4000 driver, I have everything working, except INK tank monitoring. If I bought one of the Pixma printers, that Canon makes x64 drivers for, I would have to pay five times as much for "original" ink tanks, as I have to pay now, so I can live without ink tank monitoring (and save a lot of money :-) Kind Regards LDJ |

Hello dafrenchman! Allo I noticed that Vista x64 has a good number of Canon Printers. Even my s900 which I cannot find drivers for on XP x64. I wonder if the Vista X64 drivers could work with XP X64? Anyone know how to make that work? I found that the "i" series printers had "Inbox Printer Drivers", in the Vista CPP. My i865 printer worked, but I couldn't use CD-Label print, as the program couldn't find a CD-Label capable printer. I thought It would be a good idea, to save the printer driver, before I wiped the Vista partition again, and re-installed WinXP64. I managed to get most of the needed driver parts copied, but unfortunately didn't get hold of all of the files. With the driver parts that I saved, I'm able to install the i865 driver, on WinXP64, but the printer doesn't work with the driver. I could install Vista again, and try to collect the missing driver parts, but as the CD-Label print option didn't work on Vista, and most likely won't work on WinXP64 with that driver, I hesitate installing Vista again. If I do, it will be in order to satisfy my curiosity Kind Regards LDJ |

Hello Cosine! Help! Can't install Canon LBP 3200 can anyone help I think your best chance is to try out the various "WinXP64 in box" drivers, and see if there is a driver that will work with your printer. I used the BJC-8000 driver until I discovered that the IP5000 driver could work with an i865 printer. Do Canon have newer laser printers that are similar to yours? If so, you could download the drivers, and try them out. Kind Regards LDJ |

Microsoft seems to be on the ball for adding drivers under x64. Not only did Vista x64 find my Canon IP3000 on the network (connected to an XP x32 machine), but it installed the drivers without incident. It was actually quicker than connecting to it under XP x64. Maybe this bodes well for Canon and x64 support...

Hello ddd! The software, on Canon's site, mentioned as being WinXP64 compatible, doesn't include CD-Label print. We can hope that the CD-Label print software will be out soon. LDJ Vista x64: The Xp x64 drivers work fine in Vista x64 [just ignore the not signed warning]. I've used both the ip4000 and ip3000 successfully. Download CDlabel print for 32-bit after installing the drivers. It works fine using WOW. |
