Would suggest Everest Home which is free from majorgeeks also, if of course the above does not work for you, or if you want LOADS of options and information beyond what the above offers.

Since you're using x850xt I bet these two devices are the video-in of your video card. (not at home at the moment so I cannot confirm there were two devices, but I think there was). When you look at these two in the device manager just right-click on them and choose properties. If they are from x850xt, then you should see there something like: location: x850xt or something....

If you have an Asus motherboard you can try this: Please update the driver of this unknown device and direct the path to support CD\Software\AiBooster\ACPI\Win2000\ to solve this problem. 1. Download the AiBooster for Windows XP x64 from the Asus site 2. Copy the Win2000 folder to your desktop (AiBooster\ACPI\Win2000\) 3. Update the driver of this device and direct it to the Win2000 folder on your desktop. Olivier |

One trick I use is to check the hardware ID and search the Internet for the string, at the very least you can identify the vendor in most cases and from there make a guess as to the device. In Device Manager, double-click on the Unknown Device and select the "Details" tab. In the "Property" drop-down list, select "Hardware Ids". The "Value" window will show you the PnP hardware identity of the device (several in some cases for compatibility). Copy up to the end of the DEV section in the string and search MSN/Google/whatever for it and see what comes up - what do the results presented have in common. e.g. My "Marvell Yukon 88E8001/8003/8010 PCI Gigabit Ethernet Controller" (onboard on the Asus A8N-SLI Premium motherboard) has hardware IDs: PCI\VEN_11AB&DEV_4320&SUBSYS_811A1043&REV_13 PCI\VEN_11AB&DEV_4320&SUBSYS_811A1043 PCI\VEN_11AB&DEV_4320&CC_020000 PCI\VEN_11AB&DEV_4320&CC_0200 The string I would search on here is: PCI\VEN_11AB&DEV_4320 "VEN" indicates the manufacturer and "DEV" is the device ID. As a pair, these should uniquely identify a device. As Olivier_14 alluded to, Asus motherboards often present the device "ACPI\ATK0110\1010110" which resolves to "ATK0110 ACPI UTILITY" when you find the "AiBooster" utility bundled with their mainboard. |
