After a couple of months of fiddling with my PC I have managed to squeeze out this speed which currently is stable.

See photo attached.

stock 2000mhz 1.5v DDR400

currently 2500mhz (10x250) @ 1.75v
DDR500 (2x250) @ 2-3-2-6 3.1v (does 2-2-2-6, but not sure if that is stable)
RAM 1:1 with FSB (HTT)

Any Questions?

Screen shot was from 32bit OS, I'll post an updated one on RC2 64bit.

that is not bad at all, i have mine at 2.56Ghz currently and had it up to 2.61Ghz but my power supply isnt good enough to keep it stable.
also my ram is not good enough for that kind of speed or them timings but it works with my ram set to 333 and my fsb at 285mhz but damn i wish i had your ram that is some really nice ram. by the way what motherboard do you got. and yes i have to have my voltage up there at 1.75 as well but it is not really getting that much cuz my power supply is not keeping up with the demand thats why it was unstable at 2.61Ghz.

I have aN AMD 3000+ on a MSI-Neo FSR board with two sticks of 512 Kingston KVR400 (pc 3200) . I currently have mine clocked to 2.41ghz FSB 241@ 1.5 core voltage. The memory is at ddr400 @2.6v timing 2t @3-0-3-3-8 . It is stable with high temps of 42 C when it is under full throttle, even in extended time frames.I tried to turn the FSB up this morning to 245 with hopes of 250-255 range being my actual target. I got a lock up when I got to the log in and restarted it to get a windows fault after the windows load screen , I am sure it is due to lack of voltage supply for the processor because I have the voltage locked @ 1.5 . seems like you have the setup though man your ram is really helping you out. Quick question , you think more voltage in my case would help?

AMD64 3000+ @2.41ghz 4xHT Speed
MSI-(7030) Neo FSR Nforce3 250gb
2x KVR400 Kingston 512 PC3200 @PC3900 BW

alittle more voltage would help but im thinking your lockup is caused by your ram not being able to run that fast change it so it runs at 333 in the bios and you will get that to run faster. mine does the same it can run 1:1 up till 241-242 tops but it starts erroring out if i have it runnng any faster then 242mhz.

Yep extra voltage always helps. Though cooling becomes more of a problem then.

I have found that after owning 3 A64 CPU

1x 3200+ (Clawhammer)
1x 2800+ 512kb cache (Clawhammer)
1x 3000+ 512kb cache (Newcastle)

that they all did +300mhz or there abouts on stock vcore. When I had my 3200+ it ran 2400mhz on stock voltage, the MB I had at the time did not go above 1.55v which limited my OC. But I killed that CPU (my bad).

The 2800+ did 2400mhz @ 1.7v thats currently running in my file server.

Now the 3000+ does 2500mhz @ 1.7v I have had it upto 2600mhz but that was with a vcore of 2.0v which is a bit high for me + it was not stable.

The MB I am running is a DFI LanpartyUT (socket 754). Its the best s754 you can get. Voltage settings everywhere plus a working PCI lock.

The RAM I am using it stuff I got back in 2002: Corsair 3200LL with BH-5 chips. Best RAM I have ever had. I ain't going to be buying new stuff for a LONG time.

Anyway first thing to do to find max CPU OC is to put your RAM timing down a notch or two. Some MB/CPUs don't like different RAM ratios so play around with them. I would start with setting the ram to run at 266 or 200 (down from 400), then see what max CPU speed you can run at. Now finding max OC if going to take a while so don't rush things. Eventually you will figure out the best OC with what you have, then you can start playing with RAM settings.

I would also suggest going some online computing project like seti@home or folding@home, as these do stress your PC, plus you are doing something usefull.

All of my PCs are running seti@home 24/7. So basically after a week of no crashing or any odd things happening during normal use + seti then I can assume the system is stable. Though you have to check with a few loops of 3dmark just to be sure.

hope this helps.

#1: Intel C2D E8500 @ 4ghz / Asus P5Q-Pro / 4GB G.Skill PC2 8500 / BFG 8800GT OC{725/1816/1075} / 2x Seagate 7200.9 80GB in RAID 0 / Razer Barracuda AC-1 / Danger Den water cooling / TT Armor

I recently picked up an Asus A8V Deluxe and a Winchester 3000+ (1.8Ghz) I upped the voltage to 1.6 and set my HTT to 267. That gives me a running speed of 2.4Ghz. Not a bad 33% OC. I had it up to 2.45Ghz but had a shut down, I think if I upped he voltage again I could probably hit 2.5. But I don't want to get greedy.

If you can there is a multiplier on the HT bus and for 939 it goes to 5x, if you can try turning i down that might help you go higher. Some tech website did a test and they found that even having it at 2x made little or no difference in performance.

I will see how far I can go without moving the HT multiplier

Well i think have gotten to the end of my overclocking adventure :(
i have a
Winchester 3000+
Gigabyte K8NS Ultra
1gig of OCZ pc3200 (very sexy with the copper heatsinks btw :D )
450 watt allied Power supply

I have the HTT multiplier to 4x, RAM timings are like 2.5-4-4-6, The ram is at 5:6 divider i think (basically the ram is still at 200mhz)
Cpu voltage is at 1.425 at 250 HTT which gets to a grand speed of 2.2 Ghz!!!
it is pretty stable prime stable for about 4hours and 1033 CPU marks in 3dmark2k3.
HAVE ANY IDEAS TO MAKE IT GO HIGHER!

What sort of cooling are you using for that system?

I would be using water cooling if I had my 0.09nm CPU running at 1.6v

Is it stil working?

I reached the 36.9 seconds SuperPi!

With a AMD Athlon64 3000+ @ 2587Mhz Winchester (0508 week)
MSI K8N Neo2 NForce3 Ultra
512 MB RAM Kingston value single channel (Cas 3) laugh.gif

Cooling all air:
-Thermaltake Venus 12 (little lapping) 5000 RPM (80x80mm)
-MSI stock heatsink for chipset (little lapping) 5000 RPM (40x40mm)

Temps:
CPU 37° at load (in first four 3dmark03 games)
temp mesured with Thermaltake Hardcano 12 (cpu sensor putted in the side of the cpu core)

Vdimm: 2.85 (set it with CoreCenter ^_^ )
