Hello. I think I have found a solution for the missing shell extensions.
I have installed ?Hot Keyboard Pro 2.8? ?Your uninstaller 2005?, ?SnagIt 7.2.3?, ?CopytoDVD 3.0.56? ?FolderSizes 3.1.0.2?. These apps should give the following shell extensions respectively: - Assign Hot Key - Uninstall with your uninstaller - Snagit (batch convert & open with catalogue browser) - CopytoDVD & copytoDVD Depot - FolderSizes (Scan & Graphs & largest sizes etc) Under normal circumstances none of the above shell extensions appears when right click. But there is a 3rd party app, Avafind, which is the searcher that I use for long time now. Avafind, further to its instant results, provides with right click (first option from top), the normal shell extensions of any folder/file. And guess what, all the right click options from XP x32, are there. I have uploaded 2 pix: the first from the avafind explorer options and the second from normal right click in the same folder (which is Ocean Aquarium Deluxe folder). You will note that in the normal right click all extensions are missing. With avafind you can find the file/folder instantly and use all shell extensions, even in x64. ![]()

Hello. The only thing I am missing in both x64 browsers (Deer Park Alpha & IEx64) is a compatible password manager.
In 32bits I am using roboform which is very reliable and fast, but I am willing to use any password manager if it is compatible, especially with Deep Park Alpha.

Hello.
Just finished installing windows x64. My specs are the following QUOTE [CASE] UNITECH CASE MIDI C8015UN BLACK 350W [M/B] ASUS ASUS K8NE -DELUXE S/R/G/F [CPU] AMD AMD XP 3200+ 64 SOCKET 754 BOX [RAM] 2x KINGSTON SIMM DDR kingston 512MB 400 [VGA] ASUS ASUS 9570TD 256MB FX5700 TD [FDD] NEC FDD 1.44 MB BLACK [HDD] 2x SEAGATE 160GB SEAGATE ?100 7200 SATA NCQ [DVD-ROM] TEAC 516E DVD 16x48 IDE BLACK [DVD-RW] TEAC DVW516D x4 DL x16(+/-)R DUAL BULK [MONITOR] SAMSUNG TFT 19" SM 193T I have preconfigured both HDD (Sil3114) to raid0. I downloaded from the sections "downloads" here the drivers for Sil3114, in order to provide them during installation (F6). The windows installation gave me an error, and did not recognized the drivers. Afterwards I went to Asus.com and downloaded the drivers from there. Windows accepted these drivers and now is working fantastic. I have to say that although my PC was fast (in view raidO), now it is lighting speed and operations like copy, paste, IE x64, windows explorer etc, are working exactly like I wish when I bought the PC back in September 2004, like a real computer, with no delay at all. Also I experienced difficulties with my Thomson SpeeedTouch 530i; I had it connected with usd and it was not recognized. After searching in these forums I read to connect it via ethernet cable and now its working - even better than the usb. Only couple of questions: after automatic udates my HDD configuration passed from raid0 to raid5; the PC speed remained unaffected (I check this through copy/paste operations). Is it normal to pass from raid0 to raid5 through update? Also do I really need the Silicon Raid Manager? And finally my PC dealer, configured one HDD (c:\) to 80 GB approx and the other (d:\) to 230 GB approx. He advised me to install windows to the 80 GB HDD, in order to have better read times. Is this correct? Thanks.

Hello. I am thinking it is about time to install windows x64.
My specs are as follows: CODE [CASE] UNITECH CASE MIDI C8015UN BLACK 350W [M/B] ASUS ASUS K8NE -DELUXE S/R/G/F [CPU] AMD AMD XP 3200+ 64 SOCKET 754 BOX [RAM] 2x KINGSTON SIMM DDR kingston 512MB 400 [VGA] ASUS ASUS 9570TD 256MB FX5700 TD [FDD] NEC FDD 1.44 MB BLACK [HDD] 2x SEAGATE 160GB SEAGATE A100 7200 SATA NCQ [DVD-ROM] TEAC 516E DVD 16x48 IDE BLACK [DVD-RW] TEAC DVW516D x4 DL x16(+/-)R DUAL BULK My main concern is about the SATA HDD. I tried to install a beta version of windowsXP x64, about 4 months before and I followed exactly the instructions (i.e. copy/paste in the floppy) on the sticky thread ?FIX: WinXP 64Bit SI 3114 RAID Setup Files? and provided the necessary drivers during setup by pressing F6, but windows setup couldn?t recognize the HDD. Now that windows 64 are not beta anymore, I am also ready to give it a new try, hopefully successful. I have a CD ?NVIDIA nForce3 Series Rev.80.01?. I have formatted my PC several times before. On the drivers tab of the CD, I choose the option ?Make Chipset IDE Driver Disk? and ?Make Silicon SATA/RAID Driver Disk? and provided by F6, when asked, during installation. I would really appreciate some help, I found a link to download drivers at the section downloads, storage: ?Silicon Image 311X SATA RAID Drivers?. Do I need 64 bit drivers and for the chipset IDE disk or should I provide the NVDIA drivers as there are on my motherboard CD? Also this drivers I downloaded should be used and not the sticky thread ?FIX: WinXP 64Bit SI 3114 RAID Setup Files?? I bought my PC on October 2004, and I am still stucked in 32 bits. Thanks and sorry if same question has been posted. [CODE] |
