its good to see that there are people out there with similar problems.

However, I have a p990 and the Wilson IT sync driver does not seem to work.

Has anybody got the p990 to sync yet? and if so how?

Cheers

Hi Humpty, I have a P900 and the sync with outlook works fine. The only thing which is not working is the file explorer, but in this threat you will find a work around if you need the file explorer. I use my card reader (built in my monitor) the transfer files between PC and P900. I also use Mobipocket reader and the sync works also fine. ... Harvey ... bigsmilie.gif

Thank you Oak!

It's nice to be able to give something back to the computing community in general as I've certainly received a lot of help from it over the years, though it's especially nice when I receive a thank you for this software biggrin.gif

We've had thousands of people download the driver from all over the world, a few have e-mailed us too to say thank you (we got more than we expected) and when I see the comments in this forum it just re-enforces how greatful people are.

In regards to your K750i, the company you need to be watching is MCCI, check out their website at www.mcci.com and in particular the WMC driver page at http://www.mcci.com/mcci-v3/l4_usb_drivers_wmc.html as this is the system employed in the K750i/W800i. I've just double checked their website and not seen anything on x64, however, the x64 driver we used for the Sync Station wasn't listed on any website either, we asked for it specifically so the old adage of "don't ask, don't get" certainly rang true here!

We'll post here if we get word that they've created an x64 driver, or alternatively please PM me or contact me via our website if you find out first (i.e. call them!)

I stumbled upon this thread via Google. Sony Ericsson have been doing a bad job of supporting their products, at least in terms of 64-bit operating systems (as everyone in this thread knows).

I noticed that on MCII's site they published new 64-bit drivers for Vista and XP in January. "Amazing!", I thought. So I checked out Sony Ericsson's support pages...

...nothing. Absolutely nothing. Still no x64 support of any sort. I still can't connect my USB cables to the phone on my x64 box. But I was wondering, how hard would it be to tweak the drivers to work with my phone? Probably impossible for me, since i have no experience of this.

Anyway, I just wanted to bump this thread and let people know.

EDIT: Oh, also, I tried downloading and installing SE's Update Service software. It installs fine alright, and the fancy video/music plays once I start it, but then it just displays "FAILED CHECKING APPLICATION VERSIONS, PLEASE RE-INSTALL THE APPLICATION AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE LATEST VERSION." Which I interpret as a 64-bit compatability error.

I have me a P990i as well mate! The phone is great but the firmware and the software it runs needs a lot of tweaking. Sony launched a half baked product but the updates are always making them a step better. I havent tried using XP 64 to do this because it wont work. Sony is notorious for not supporting 64 bit.

How to install SE PC-Suite on x64 windows:

1: Download this:

http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp?cc=gb&...82&esi=true
or http://www.sonyericsson.com/downloads/PC_Suite_2.10.21.exe

2: use winrar to extract the exe package.

3: Run PCSuitex64.exe, but don't click on anything ... copy the msi file from the temp directory to somewhere else, mine was called 70b6436.msi, yours should be similar. Cancel the install.

4: Get orca from http://www.technipages.com/downloadview-de...MSI_Editor.html

5. Open up the msi file from the temp dir in Orca.
6. Delete LaunchCondition and save it.

7. Install the modified msi, it shoudn't generate the "wrong platform" type of error messages.

My experience (caveats): I am able to use my k790a and sync with outlook/lotus notes using bluetooth and infrared from windows xp pro 32 and x64. Bluetooth has the best functionality as you can sync and do file transfer with a single configuration. Make sure you cnfigure the COM Ports in Tools>Phone Monitor Options or it won't know the phone is there. If you plug the phone in via USB, you won't be able to sync as there aren't any drivers available for it. If you set the phone to "file transfer" mode, windows x64 edition will treat the phone as a mass storage device and you can copy files to/from the phone; you just have to tell windows not to install any drivers for devices it doesn't recognize when you plug the phone into USB.

Additional info: eBay search for "bluetooth 2.0 EDR" and get the cheapest one available. Go here: http://www.dev-hack.com/pafiledb/index.php...tegory&id=2
Follow the Uncrippling Bluetooth in Windows Vista RTM Tutorial, most of it applies to XP as well.

Good luck, YMMV.

Now a newer version from evil SE, my P1i.

I managed to get the installer started by orca, but the installer stopped in the middle and said it is interrupted.

Well, copying the logged information... Hope someone could help...

By the way I am using the newest version of PC suite for Smartphone 1.3.22. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

If I just want to use the MS card inside my P1i then it is plug-and-play and I can save a few bucks on that.

What about SyncStation drivers for Vista 64?

I tried those XP64 driver but i get the error that the drivers are not signed.

Are there any solutions?

update... could install the software (x86 version)

the expanded installer has 2 .exe one is for x86 and one for x64... NEVER use X64. it fooled me for days.

well, still no driver to actually 'sees' the device in device manager. yinyang.gif

More update! I can sync my SE P1i with my XP64 now!

Tricky and step by step...

So I have the x86 PC suite installed, no use. So I go on and try to extract for the "drivers"

Then I go back to the x64 package and use msiexec xxx.msi /a to expand all the x64 package into a temp folder, and install the stuff from this temp folder.

Woops! It INSTALL! Prompting up serveral driver signature warning but still it completed. Then plug my phone back to the USB and I am now happy to be able to sync.

Boot up, press F8 and got the boot menu, select "turn off unsigned driver control... " or something similar. BUT, do it everytime you boot. face.gif

Found a fix, it doesn't install pc suite, but it allows you to drag and drop files to and from your se phone.
1. Download the installer for pc suite
2.extract the exe file you just downloaded with WinRAR (DL winrar from here http://www.rarlab.com/rar/wrar371.exe)
3. inside the folder you extracted double click the drivers file.
4.it should install nicely with no mods done to it.

I've been able to install the latest version of pc suite etc on my xp64 pro from the disc that came with my new fone -w890.
I'm sure this is the same software that comes with the w910 as they are pretty much the same fone .
The only problem is tht the MEDIA MANAGER software wont install.

It gets most of the way thru installation and then says requirements not met then shuts itself off. very frustrating as now disc2fone wont install or work properly.

Disc2fone will install it wont though recognise that the fone is connected so now both music transfer options are blocked for me.

Theres always one last hurdle with s-e.

Good news on all the other apps though even seus and the other apps install really well - amazing after all this time to see it actually work.

Will have to do a search for a way to load media manager, to see if all is not lost and

i think a sony psp forum will give me closure.

anyway i suggest looking thru sony ec,s site for the suite for the w890 as it worked for me

all the best darren.

additional info - I went to sony ericssons support site and downloaded their media manager v1.2

(build 610) after trying some pro versions of media manager for PSP and having no luck)

what i did during that was to totally uninstall quicktime (plugins reg entries etc) and then installed it

(version from son ericssons site)and flew onto my system Now I dont know if will help those who

need the version for smart fones which I also have - my w950 is symbian and it connects well now

but i wouldnt know about synchronising contacts etc its not something i use.

Finally my phone connects under x64 properly

all the best darren.

I think this is it:

http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/download/1...e%202.10.46.exe

I'm running it on XpPRO64.

It doesn't use any explorer items besides your sys tray like older versions did (in my computer) and if I remember correctly it still shows the desktop icon if you so desire.

I find this version a lot more useful anyways, because it includes a few cool addons, such as texting from your comp, editing received msges, etc.

Ty.
The 7 Star General
I need help! I just bought a W350a Sony Ericsson Phone. I have followed all troubleshooting and still doesn't work right. I have ProXP64.

Here is what is happening.

I am connecting to my computer through the provided USB connector.

The computer sees my phone in the PC suite in file transfer mode, but not in Phone mode. Then when I open media manager, media manager can't see my phone and I can't transfer files.

The computer is reading my phone as a removeable disk drive. When I click on the removeable disk icon in My Computer it tells me to insert a disk.

I am thinking I need a memory card in my phone, but the phone has music on it already that I can't access.

Plus the phone mode does not work.

A 64-bit driver for this phone may fix this too. I don't know. I am so confused. I can usually figure these things out.

Thank you for any help.

sorry..

and, i have tryed to install this one...but it wont work

i think its maby because the vista 64bit drivers will only be read by vista...and ignored by xp64..

does anyone know if it helps to edit the drivers so that windows thinks it is an xp64 driver, so it wont be ignored or something?

or is there a 32bit emulator of some sort?
