I have just installed this driver for my HP PSC Photosmart 2410, and it works a treat. The olny couple of things that seem to be missing are the Service utilities such as ink amounts etc. And the option for duplex unit attached (Automatic 2 sided printing) is this something anyone has managed to get working? i want need my device to be 100% functional before i do the full swich to x64. Please keep me posted and thanks for your hard work!! laughbounce2.gif

Any Updates? thmbup.gif

Has this driver been tested on Windows Server 2003 x64? I get errors durring the installation for my HP Officejet 7410...

I think it's because the setup is trying to create a System Restore point, and there is no system restore in Srv2003.
Jito463
I doubt that's the case, because I always have System Restore disabled on my machines and got no error during installation. And XP x64 is based off of Server 2003 SP1 anyway, so it should work.
JC7727
Is their an Xp 64 bit driver for the HP PSC 1350 yet? If so, link to download?

dizzy.gif No, I'm quite clear in saying that it doesn't work. In fact, if I run one of the setup exe's manually, it says that I'm running Windows Server 2003 x64 Edition, and not the required Windows XP Pro x64 edition.

I got the driver to manually install to print, but I'd love to be able to scan wink.gif.
Jito463
Well, like I always say, everything works in theory until it doesn't. :)

I just "assumed" it would work, but apparently it doesn't, heh.

I'm trying to install the lates version of the driver for my All-In-One PSC-2710, but when the installation is almost finished, I get an error and it stops. I can print from windows, but I still can't scan. My printer is on a wireless network if that has something to say.

I've attached the log for you...

I get similar problems when scanning if trying to do more than one page or if I try to change settings before scanning a page (in acrobat, photoshop, and other programs)
a message appears saying 'device is already in use by another program or process'

People still having scanning problems? If can you please post date and version of a file called hpxpaio.dll that is in c:\windows\system32?

I might have a patch for it.

I went ahead and installed these drivers as there are no other 64bit for my deskjet 3620. It installs fine, followed all the steps and when I try and print anything it gives me an error saying it cannot print because of an error with the current printer setup. It suggests that I reinstall the driver. I have the latest patched version installed. Thanks!

Please send me or post the ZIP file resulting from runnin \setup\hpzrcv01.exe from the downloaded driver. Run msinfo32.exe and save the results as .NFO file and send it along with the zip file. That should help diagnose the problem.

I'm having big trouble downloading this driver file - could anyone perhaps email it to me?  info@hobartdesign.com

I also wondered - am I supposed to install the HP Director software as well?  I went search for the printer to see if Windows could detect it, but it doesn't want to pick up the wireless connection...  Perhaps HP Director will find the wireless connection?

V. frustrating all this.  Considering x64 has been out for a while, I can't see why HP is taking so long...

Cheers!
*

HI,
Please read post #288 for where to get the drivers from.
Regarding the HP Director, it has nothing to do with wireless. Even more it won't work on x64.

If your printer doesn't connect to your wireless network use this check list:

[] Reset the printer to manufacturing defaults
[] Make sure the printer has the radio turned on (blue light is on)
[] Check that Mac address control (a.k.a Mac filtering) is off in your access point or gateway.
[] Enable SID broadcast in your access point or gateway.
[] Disable any encription
[] Enable DHCP in the access point

With all this the printer should "see" your wireless network and get an IP address. Print the network configuration page to check the values.

Good luck.

I never tested this driver on Windows Server 2003 x64 and that is why I blocked the install in this version. If you want to go at your own risk run hpzsetup.exe and when you get blocked because of the OS do: hold Ctrl+Shift keys and click on Cancel. The installation should continue and then you are on your own.

I just hope you are not opreating a comercial x64 server that anybody needs to rely on because you'll be playing with fire and I don't want this liability wink.gif

Same comment as Jito463. It all just "in theory"!

How would you manually install the scanning stuff? Also, when I manually installed the printer driver, I don't see any support for the Duplexer or Second Paper Tray in my printer. Is support comming soon? :)

If the printer is connected USB just plug it in and when asked for drivers point to where you expanded the download.

If it is network you can only use the installer.

BTW, did my workaround work?
Tekmaven
I don't even get to OS Detection in the installer.

When the installer is up to step 1/4 (Checking System), I get a popup error dialog that has this:

CODE
---------------------------
C:\Documents and Settings\Ryan\Desktop\GoesTo64Full5[1].64.0.11Patched\GoesTo64Full5.64.0.11Patched\setup\hpzshl40.exe -m icepreshield,delayedreboot  -l ENU -f C:\WINDOWS\x64ins02.dat -Validate No -w 7013352
---------------------------
The parameter is incorrect.

---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

If I click okay, the installer starts analyzing error logs. If I click the "Details..." button, I get this:

CODE
---------------------------
Error Situation Code: 25303864
---------------------------
The following lines were retrieved from the installation error logs.

Now Launching=X:\hpzshl40.exe -m icepreshield,delayedreboot  -l XXX -f X:\DIVins??.DAT

Cannot load data failed returning 87 (The parameter is incorrect.

Exit code=87

---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

If I click continue, setup closes.

I was able to get to the OS Detection by just starting exe's manually (playing around tongue.gif).

The printer is connected via WiFi. Do you think we can get this to work? I might be able to plug this thing into usb, but it's really not preferred (I'll need to go out and purchase some stuff, and I'll also won't be able to use this as a network scanner).
Tekmaven
I started playing around with what I think is the setup script file (x64ins02.dat in C:\WINDOWS). What I did was, comment out line 275:

CODE
;6=hpzshl40.exe -m ICEPreShield,DelayedReboot

And I got much further in setup. By then I realized that I needed to enable the Windows Service called "Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)", so I went into services.msc and changed it's startup type to "automattic". Setup then errored on a "net stop stisvc" command - stisvc IS the WIA service, so I went back into the setup and found and commented out the net stop / net start stisvc lines (298-299):

CODE
;13=%system32%\net stop stisvc
;14=%system32%\net start stisvc

Setup completes sucessfully, and I just went into cmd and manually restarted WIA.

I'm testing scanning and printing now wink.gif

Edit: Printing works, scanning doesn't. The scanner shows up with WIA, but it always errors when I try to scan. I am going to try rebooting now.

Has anyone seen or heard of any workaround or driver for HP Scanjets yet.
as far as I knew drivers were not available, then I found an article postewd on microsofts webpage with a "hotfix" for 4 of the models running on x64 pro and 2003 server 64 bit. ??

Hi,

You have to install this patch too.

Make sure you power cycle the all-in-one (unplug the power cord and plug it back in; off and on is not a real power cycle) before you install the patch.

INstall the patch, restart WIA and try again. If it still fails try to capture the error message.

BTW, I am interested in knowing why it failed with invalid parameter. Would you mind to cmd to the \setup\ forlder and run

start /wait hpzshl40.exe -m icepreshield,delayedreboot -log 2047

It will take some time but when it is finished could you send me the log file? It will be in the %TEMP% folder and its namewill be hpzshlXXX.log XXX will be a number like 004. The file should be the biggest with the highest number.

How do i remove this driver?

I have a deskjet 5740, and I'm having problems when trying to print (firefox complains, acrobat crashes, open office crashes). So i just want to revert to the 990c drivers that hp suggests.

I went through the uninstall (several times), and it always says that there are no supported devices, but there are still files that need to be removed. So I allow it to continue, so far so good. But when I go to re-install my printer, it automatically detects it as a deskjet 5700, and asks me where the inf/driver is (screenshot attached). I don't get the "pick a manufacter" list, just the standard "file needed" box, with a browse/ok/cancel buttons.

Yes,

I installed the latest version and it's the same blinking button for me. And the control toolbox does not work as well. (I can do without it for now though).
My installation wasn't completed at the end and asked me to reinstall drivers. I didn't but the printer prints just fine. Did it happen to you too?

Hi,

Thanks a lot for the drivers, they worked like a charm for both my psc 1350 and my deskjet 3500, the only problem I have with the psc is that when I print pics they come out too dark, before I was able to fix this under "Service this device", I don't remember the exact process but that's where you print out a page and scan it, anyways when I click the "Service this device" button I get the following error:

"A required printer file is either missing or corrupted. Reinstall the HP printing software that came with this device and try again."

Is this an issue with the beta drivers or is it a problem with my setup?

Can you adjust the darkness in the printer preferences? Should be a control to print them lighter; save it as default.

The missing file is probably because of the beta drivers not your setup.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This driver IS NOT SUPPORTED BY HP in any way,  form or fashion. This driver is in a PRE-BETA state and it is delivered 'as is'. HP will not assume any responsibility about what might happen to your PC. This driver has not passed WHQL tests so plug and play is fairly slow and you will have to click on some Windows warnings to continue the install.
You are on your own. You might get "voluntary" help in Planet AMD64 > Forum Home > Software > Drivers (http://www.planetamd64.com/index.php?showforum=14)

CAUTION If you ever call HP support about this driver your 64 bit processor will overclock itself until it burns!
If you are not familiar with what an INF file is or device manager please stay away from this driver, no offense intended.
In the Found New Hardware Wizard do:
1) Select "No,  not this time"
2) "Install the software automatically (Recommended)
3) Click "Continue anyway" on the Scary Windows screen.
4) Finally click "Finish"

hp deskjet series: 3320, 3420, 3500, 3600, 3740, 3840, 5100, 5550, 5551, 5600, 5700, 5800, 6122, 6127, 630c, 640c, 6500, 656c, 6600, 6800, 816c, 825c, 840c, 845c, 895c, 920c, 930c, 940c, 950c, 955c, 957c, 960c, 970c, 980c, 990c, 995c
hp officejet series: 4100, 4105, 4200, 5500, 6100, 6200, 7200, 7300, 7400

hp psc series: 1000, 1100, 1200, 1300, 1310, 1600, 2100, 2150, 2170, 2200, 2300, 2350, 2400, 2500

exclamation.gif The biggest limitation will be in the printer driver because all models will look the same.

Examples: You might have a DeskJet without a feature, say borderless printing, and the printer preferences will let you select the borderless printing option even if your product doesn't have it. Some 4x6" photosmart printers will appear like they are letter size printers. Obviously any printer configuration that requires the hardware to do something it cannot perform will result in some side effects for that print job; failure, clipping, duplicate pages, no output, etc.

1) Select "No, not this time"
2) "Install the software automatically (Recommended)
3) Click "Continue anyway" on the Scary Windows screen.
4) Finally click "Finish"

Network: Make sure the printer is connected to your network. If you need to setup wireless settings do it before install (not recommended unless you like tinny LCD and cell phone keypads) or plug the printer wired to the network first. Wireless check list:

[] MAC address control includes new printers' MAC
[] SID broadcast is temporary enabled (make the whole setup process much easier)
[] The PC is in the same subnetwork as the printer.

Run the installer, choose network and either let the installer discover it (default) or search it by address. If you haven't setup wireless settings and your INTENT is to USE IT wireless choose the wireless path and do your setup. Once the printer is discovered and setup:

In the Found New Hardware Wizard do:
1) Select "No, not this time"
2) "Install the software automatically (Recommended)

XMAN,
Any way to get a bundled version. I can't get the file to save renamed using winrar, or winzip. Once I think it is renamed, it doesn't seem to work. Playing with a new 64 bit OS. I have sound and vid working well. No scanner, camera, or printer, or webcam yet.

Update: Managed to get it to work. Seems when I extracted, there was a version 1 in a couple of the titles. After renaming to all the same convention it worked.

Thanks for the assist.

I think I read though all the replies and I didn't see the HP3650 Deskjet. But I have that printer, and the beta drivers are working great. I renamed .z01.zip to .z01, and .z02.zip to .z02. I left part 1/3 as .zip. How do I unextract the contents of all three, though? I tried opening the .zip and it said it was corrupted. The same thing happened with .z02. .z01 did work, and under WinRAR the original .zip was extracted but I don't think it was linked to .z01 or .z02.

Bottom line, I have no idea how to do this.

Can someone post instructions on how to extract, please?

I renamed .z01.zip to .z01, and .z02.zip to .z02.  I left part 1/3 as .zip.  How do I unextract the contents of all three, though?  I tried opening the .zip and it said it was corrupted.  The same thing happened with .z02.  .z01 did work, and under WinRAR the original .zip was extracted but I don't think it was linked to .z01 or .z02.

Bottom line, I have no idea how to do this.

Can someone post instructions on how to extract, please?

Assuming you downloaded WinZIp 9.0 you just right click on the .zip and choose extract. I just downloaded the files and are not corrupted.

I just did that, and it worked. So through the .zip it knew to look into the .z01 and .z02 files? I cannot open .z01 separately because it claims its corrupted, but I can open .z02 by itself.

Also, I'm going to be installing windows x64 on my laptop at college, so its important that the drivers work so I can get my work done, which is why I'm researching most of it before I take the jump. Everything looks like it'll be fine.

But...does anyone know if the PSC 1410 works?
